Government English Higher Primary School was the only school in Karnataka run buy the Government which had English taught as first language rather than Kannada. It was the last remaining legecacy of the British Raj in Kolar Gold Fields. Recently the school was reverted back to educating students in Kannada, the primary language of Karnataka state.
