Perhaps fuel cell technology is more silent (although I doubt it), but that doesn't say Stirling technology is noisy or vibration-prone (which it isn't). In fact, Swedish television have shown Gotland's Stirling engine running at full power with a coin standing on its edge on top of the engine and two people having a normal conversation right next to it. [1] Kokums does not hoat it on their website anymore. However, HMS Halland "swept the board in exercises with Spanish and French naval units in the Atlantic. Futhermore, she also defeated the USS Houston from the USA." The exercise took place in Mediterranean in the year 2000 and was the precursor to the leasing of HMS Gotland.
