Gottlob Burmann (1737-1805) was a German Romantic poet and lipogrammatist. He is best known for his dislike of the letter R. The letter "R" does not appear in any of his 130 poems, as he avoided the use of the letter "R" throughout the over 20,000 words that comprise his poetic works. [1] He is even said to have eliminated it from his daily speech.
