Gottfried John (born August 29, 1942 in Berlin) is a German actor. During the 1970s and 1980s, he played various roles in films by Rainer Werner Fassbinder, notably that of Reinhold in the epic Berlin Alexanderplatz. He is internationally known for his portrayals of General Ourumov in the James Bond film GoldenEye and Julius Caesar in Asterix and Obelix take on Caesar. He lives with his wife in Belgium.
