Goto Yujo

Goto Yujo (1440-1512) a famous swordsman following the Muromachi period of the 15th century of Japan.

Yujo became famous as the founder of one of many great families of sword fitting makers, which ended up continuing to produce tsuba until the death of his final descendant during the year of 1856. The tsuba were stood out in that they reflected the specific time period and school that designed them. Yujo stood out as a very famous sword fitting maker with sword fittings always had very unusual detail, color, texture, and contrast. Many of Yujo's designs can be easily found to this day.
