Goth is a novel by Otsu-ichi, which was adapted into a manga by Kendi Oiwa. Both were published in Japan by Kadokawa. The novel won the Honkaku Mystery Prize. Fox Atomic has announced that the novel will be made into a feature film directed by J.T. Petty.[1] Tokyopop has announced that they will be publishing the manga in September 2008, and the novel in October 2008.[2]

Goth is about two high school students: a boy who remains unnamed until late in the story, and a girl named Yoru Morino. Both are fascinated by murder, and end up involved in six different murder mysteries happening in their hometown.

Boku
A high school student obsessed with death. Said his passions are to "haunt crime scenes to look for details" and to "stand where a body had been not long ago".
Yoru Morino
A high school student obsessed with death. Tends to keep to herself and not talk to anyone. Befriends the narrator after an incident involving Mr. Shinohara. Has a glaring white scar on her wrist.

Mr. Shinohara
The narrator and Morino's science teacher.
The Restaurant Manager
A manager at Morino's favorite restaurant. He is never named.
Mr. Saeki
A man who lives near Morino. He's obsessed with burying people alive.
Yu Morino
Yoru's twin sister.
Takami
One of Yoru's only friends, has known her since ninth grade.
