[edit] Note of Appreciation
I hope you haven't taken my comments at Template talk:WPBiography in a harsh light. I would like to say here that I really do appreciate the effort you have put into this; it is just that if an effort seems to be heading in an alarming direction, I sound off. As an aside, I had a little time to work on the biography of James S. T. Stranahan and had left some notes on that articles /Comment area; understand, at the time, I was focussed on the article, had some library books in hand. It was a bit of surprise when I went to Talk:James S. T. Stranahan to find the customary link to the /Comments page gone — my status notes! It may be easier to appreciate my alarm when you recall I was accustomed to hitting the link in the template. At the time, I had not even really noted what the name of the subpage was, so I had to take the time to do the usual spelunking around, find the real name of the page, get to it via the URL, figure out that the template had been revised, and all of this distraction from my intended activity, and that left me a bit cross. As you've probably gathered by now, when you change a template, especially one on nearly half a million pages, you can affect the work of a lot of editors real quickly. Template editing is a lot more thrilling than article editing!
Be that as it may, I would like to note that what you are doing is also of no small worth, you are sticking at it, and all that too is a good thing. I want you to know that I appreciate that. Good luck in this. Take care. — Gosgood 12:44, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
