This adobe barn on the Goss ranch outside of La Veta, Colorado, is the original barn built by the Goss family when they settled in Huerfano County, following the mining industry in the late 1800's and early 1900's. The family was descendant from Scottish colonists who settled on the borders of Virginia and Carolina before the American Revolutionary War. And, they were direct descendants of Zacharia Goss who infamously helped kidnap Benjamin Cleveland. Copyright 2006,2007 Charles M. Sauer
