Gossip is a double album recorded by Paul Kelly & The Coloured Girls and originally released in September 1986.
It was released on Mushroom Records in Australia and was the debut album for Paul Kelly & The Coloured Girls.
It has been released in several different configurations. Initially a double album with 24 tracks, it was edited down to a single 15-track LP for North American release (with a handful of tracks being remixed, and the running order changed). When released on CD in North America, Gossip featured 17 tracks. All North American releases were credited to Paul Kelly & The Messengers, rather than Paul Kelly & The Coloured Girls, it being feared that the "Coloured Girls" name might offend some Americans.
Meanwhile, the initial 1987 Australian CD release and the 1993 Australian CD re-release contained 21 tracks. Once the Gossip LP fell out of print, the 1993 release was the only commercially available version of the album from the mid-1990s until 2005. In 2005, a special deluxe 2-CD version was released in Australia which contained all 24 tracks.
