Gosberton is a large village in the South Holland District of Lincolnshire on the A152.
The population of Gosberton is only about 2500 and the main occupation is farming. Many commute to surrounding areas such as Spalding and Boston. The village used to be skirted by the busy A16 road but has now been bypassed and now sits on the cross-roads of the B1397 (Dowsby to Boston road) and the A152 (Donington to Surfleet road). The Peterborough to Lincoln Line passes across the B1397 at a level crossing in Risegate and also passes through Westhorpe further north. On this line, then known as the Great Northern and Great Eastern Joint Railway was a railway station.
The parish church of Gosberton is the church of St Peter and St Paul and is under the Diocese of Lincoln. Gosberton Clough's wooden church is dedicated to St Gilbert and St Hugh. These two churches and that at Quadring are in the same group, based in Gosberton. Gosberton House school is for children with learning difficulties. Village pubs are the Black Horse Inn in Risegate and the Five Bells Inn on Siltside in Risegate. Confusingly, in Gosberton itself is another Five Bells on Spalding Road, as well as the Duke of York on Risegate Road, the Bell Inn on High Street, and Crown Inn on Gosberton Road. There is a nature reserve administered by the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust.
There are two nearby hamlets named for Gosberton, Gosberton Clough and Gosberton Risegate on the B1397 towards Bourne. There is also Gosberton Cheal to the south of Risegate.
