[edit] Closing the temple doors

The article Temple of Janus (Roman Forum) doesn't say Gordian III closed the doors, why is that? --AW 15:43, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Gordian and deification

The page currently suggests that Philip did not want Gordian to be deified, but that was quite the opposite. Philip wanted to try and halt rumors that he had a part in Gordian's death. Therefore he rushed Gordian's ashes back to Rome and demanded his deification. See Pat Southern's The Roman Empire: From Severus to Constantine (Routledge, 2001).
