Gornja Rijeka

Gornja Reka is a municipality in the Koprivnica-Križevci county in Croatia. According to the 2001 census, there are 2,035 inhabitants in the area, with Croats forming an absolute majority. Inhabitants are very proud of their nobility that was given to them by King Bela IV. In the 19th century Countess Sidonija Rubido Erdody started primary schooling in Gornja Rijeka by initiating building a new school. Today the primary school in Gornja Rijeka carries her name.
