Gorkha Airlines is an airline based in Kathmandu, Nepal. It operates scheduled and charter flights to domestic destinations, as well as daily mountain flights in the Himalayas. Its main base is Pokhara Airport, with a hub at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu.[1]

The airline was established in 1996 and started operations on 8 July 1996. It began operations with two helicopters and moved on to scheduled flights using fixed-wing aircraft.[1]

Gorkha Airlines operates services to the following scheduled domestic destinations (at November 2006): Bhairahawa, Bharatpur, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Jomsom, Kathmandu, Lukla, Pokhara, Simara and Tumlingtar. [2]
[edit] Incidents and accidents
- 30 June 2005 - A Dornier Do 228 (9N-AEO) aircraft was attempting to land at Lukla Airport, after a flight from Kathmandu, when it skidded off the runway. There were only minor injuries to the nine passengers and three crew members. The aircraft was reportedly withdrawn from use and written off after the accident. [3] [4]
