Gorham Parks

Gorham Parks (May 27, 1794 - November 23, 1877) was a U.S. Representative from Maine.

Born in Westfield, Massachusetts, Parks attended the common schools and was graduated from Harvard University in 1813. He studied law. He was admitted to the bar in 1819 and practiced. He moved to Bangor, Maine, in 1823 and continued the practice of law.

Parks was elected as a Jacksonian to the Twenty-third and Twenty-fourth Congresses (March 4, 1833-March 3, 1837). United States marshal for the district of Maine 1838-1841. United States attorney for the district of Maine 1843-1845. United States consul at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 1845-1849. He died in Bay Ridge, New York, November 23, 1877. He was interred in Greenwood Cemetery, Brooklyn, New York.
