Formed in 1988, Goreaphobia was one of the first death metal bands from to emerge from the Philadelphia scene. They never released a full length, only a demo cassette and 2 7" EP's. Due to this fact, and their influence on later bands, Goreaphobia has reached a cult status in the underground, with demand for their merchandise still very high. The band played many shows in the early 1990s, and toured with Immolation on their 1992 "tour of possession". Drummer Craig Smilowski would Join Immolation, and Chris Gamble would go on to form Blood Storm after Goreaphobia's breakup. The band was reunited with the original lineup after 15 years to record some unreleased material for a new release on Necroharmonic Records. It is due for a 2007 release.
