Gordon "Butch" Stewart

Gordon "Butch" Stewart (b. July 6, 1941 in Kingston, Jamaica)[1] is a Jamaican/British businessman and the owner or Chairman of over two dozen companies throughout the Caribbean, North America and Great Britain. These companies include: Sandals Resorts International,[2] Beaches Resorts,[3] Air Jamaica,[4] Appliance Traders, Ltd.,[1] The Observer,[1] among others.

Stewart was a recipient of Caribbean World Magazine's Lifetime Achievement Award for his work in Jamaica,[5] and has been called one of Jamaica's most-admired businessmen,[6] but he attracted a fair amount of negative attention over his policy of permitting gays in his resorts.[7]
