Gordon Johnson (historian)

Dr. Gordon Johnson is a prominent British historian of colonial India. He is the general editor of the New Cambridge History of India, and the President of Wolfson College, Cambridge as of 2006.

Dr. Johnson was born in 1943. From 1974 he was Lecturer in Oriental Studies, University of Cambridge, and from 1983 Director, Cambridge University Centre of South Asian Studies.

He has been a Deputy Vice-Chancellor since 2002.
