Gordon Gair

Gordon Gair Sr. (1916 - present) was an all-star lacrosse player in Canada and is credited in the hall of fame. Gordon Gair was born August 17, 1916. One of four lacrosse playing brothers, 3 of whom are in the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame. His brother Norman, born 1911 and Jack, born 1922 are also in the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame. His other brother, Lloyd "Toad" also played for many years. Gordon was also first cousin to Ken Dixon, born 1923, and Archie Dixon, born, 1919, both of whom are also in the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame. Gordon is the father of Graeme Gair, who also had an outstanding career and is the grandfather of current star, Jackson Gair, who just graduated from th OLA junior A series.
Gordon, still holds the OLA Major Series record for most goals in a game, with 14, scored on August 24, 1946, against Orillia Terriors, when he scored a phenomenal 100 goals for the Barrie Lakeshores in one season. Gord, led the OLA senior A series in points in both 1936 and 1946. Gord's career total of 810 career goals puts him still 10th all-time in career goals, even though his career ended in 1949, nearly 60 years ago. Gord, at 91 years of age, is still living as of October 15th, 2007, and is the 2nd oldest lacrosse player still living today.
