Gordon Chiesa is an assistant basketball coach for the Memphis Grizzlies. From 1989 to 2004, he served as an assistant coach for the Utah Jazz. He coached as an assistant coach at Dartmouth from 1979 to 1981. From 1981 to 1985, he served as the head coach at Manhattan. In 1983, he was named the Metro Athletic Conference Coach of the Year. He later served as the head basketball coach at Providence College. He is the only coach to serve as an assistant in both an NBA Finals game and an NCAA Final Four game. Chiesa accepted a position as a New Jersey Nets assistant coach in 2005 but later resigned because of personal reasons.
