Gordon Abercrombie (born in Sydney, New South Wales) was an Australian rugby league player for the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks in the New South Wales Rugby League premiership competition. His position of choice was at fullback.

Abercrombie originally signed to the club in the mid-sixties as a quick and agile winger.

Making his debut in the 1967 season it took him a year to cement himself as a regular first grader playing at fullback as opposed to being on the wings.
[edit] 1968-1970
His finest season is widely considered to be in 1968 where he received many favorable reviews from many coaches and pundits alike, before hanging up his boots as a player at then end of the 1970 season.
