[edit] Golden Gopher History
Sorry about getting back to you so late. Great to see you're continuing to update the pages. I'd like to continue adding pages, but I likely won't get a decent chance to do it until after football season, as I write a column on college football. If you'd like to continue making pages, definitely go for it. Let me know if I can be of any help, when I have some free time I'll try to put up some more info. -Colslax 19:16, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
- The page looks fantastic, great work! You've probably followed closer than I, at what point do the Glen Mason seasons get merged together into one page? I haven't seen anything, but you sound like you've seen a little more on discussion about formating as of recently. -Colslax 19:27, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
I've created the page Minnesota Golden Gophers under Glen Mason. The 1997 schedule is up, and links to the 1999-2006 seasons. I've also proposed a merger of the 1999-2003 pages into the Mason page. While there are stats available back to 1998, I'm not sure how many years back we'll readily be able to work out info for each season. The 2003 date certainly isn't set it stone either. Let me know what you think -Colslax 04:12, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
- Whoops, the page is Minnesota Golden Gophers football under Glen Mason -Colslax 04:13, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
Sure thing, no problem. At the moment I'm pecking my way through Minnesota Golden Gophers football under Murray Warmath, as well as adding some award history to pages to help fill out the seasons info (Minnesota Golden Gophers football under John Gutekunst is a good example at this point. I'm also still looking at merging some of Glen Mason's early seasons into Minnesota Golden Gophers football under Glen Mason, so if you have any ideas on what can be merged in there, or at what point there is enough info to warrant individual pages, lemme know. Great work on the Williams work.
Go Gophers, beat Illinois! -Colslax 20:10, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
Minnesota Golden Gophers football under Murray Warmath went live, I'm happy to have that up finally. -Colslax (talk) 03:45, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for the compliment. I haven't got a chance to start Bernie's page yet, I'm aiming to start on the 26th. Also on my to do is to flush out the Glen Mason articles, trying to get enough info to figure which need to be on their own, and which can be combined into the MGG FB under GM article. After that I'm looking to work on the main page for football, sourcing, lengthening and whatnot. -Colslax (talk) 23:30, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
- You've argued the point as well as one can with Bugs. You've backed it up with your history, while Bugs has a history of issues. It really looks as though he has an agenda against the Golden Gophers, so I really don't think you're over reacting. Good idea taking it to the CFB wikiproject. -Colslax (talk) 00:03, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

- Read the various ways "compete" is used in this article [1] before you bash my opinions further. And, FYI, I'm a Cubs fan, so I know from losing. Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? 15:55, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Templates
In May, I had removed the season templates from the Gopher football page. I believe that the purpose of the template was to link the season or timeframe pages together. To me, it's like putting as many categories as possible in an article...sure it can be done and a valid argument can be made that they belong, but is it necessary? I've just noticed that some pages go crazy with the templates and I'd hate to see the Gopher page get cluttered. As long as the season-specific articles are in the Minnesota Golden Gophers football category, I'm not sure if this template belongs in this article.Football79 04:59, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Did we loose you?
Just checking in, I've left the template we're working on together alone for now. I want to make sure you're an active part of the process. Juan Miguel Fangio| ►Chat 04:09, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] POV pushing
Your user ID makes it obvious that you are pushing your hype point of view on the Gophers football article. Don't be accusing others of vandalism. It can come back to bite you. Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? 03:54, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
- Explain to me why "[team] strives to win in [conference]" is not only neutral and equivalent to but superior to "[team] is a member of [conference]". Your continual claim of "vandalism" is offensive and untrue, and I'm sure you know that, or you would bring the issue to a larger audience. Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? 20:16, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
- We're not saying "[team] strives to win", we're saying "[team] competes". That is the correct way to say it. You are simply trying to confuse the issue unnecessarily. And at first, I suppose it's possible that your changes were just misguided attempts at humor and not vandalism, but ignoring a clear consensus and making changes despite it IS vandalism.
-
- I have already brought the issue to a wider audience and they agreed with me. If you really want to waste your time pursuing this, then it's up to you to find that audience. Gopherguy | Talk 21:34, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

- It is you guys that claim compete exclusively means "strives to win". If "[team] strives to win in [conference]" is not valid, then neither is "[team] competes in [conference]." Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? 23:51, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image.
Maybe you would want to redirect your energies to the image someone deleted from several Gophers-related pages. If you're not happy about that, I can fully sympathize. Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? 00:00, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
