Thanks for uploading Image:Waterhouse.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

Regarding the article you created, Rail-Head, poem by Gilbeert Waterhouse 1893-1916:

  • In the future, you will be able to fix article titles like this by using the 'Move' tab at the top of the page. You probably can't do this right now, just because you're a new user; page-moving can be a very destructive form of vandalism, so users have to be a little bit established before having this ability.
  • Article titles generally should be as concise as possible; so this one would just be called "Rail-Head".
  • The full text of a poem is not typically included in a Wikipedia article unless the poem is very short. I have copied the text to Rail-Head on Wikisource, a project which collects text such as this. The Wikipedia article should contain other information revelant to this poem.

As far as the image upload, you really just need to mention where you got the image; if it was from a website, put the url on this page, and if you don't figure out its copyright status, someone else can do it for you.

To respond on a talk page, just edit the page and add your text to the bottom. Use one or more colons at the beginning to indent replies, and don't forget to sign your post with ~~~~.
Image:Rail-headfrontcover.jpg still needs a copyright tag. And just to be certain: You tagged Image:Waterhouse_Grave.jpg and Image:Cruickshank3.jpg as PD-self; this means that they are photos that you took yourself. Judging by the apparent age of the pictures in Image:Cruickshank3.jpg, I'm wondering if this is accurate? ~ Booya Bazooka 18:23, 9 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Rail-headfrontcover.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. I've removed the {{refimprove}} tag you added to Central Communications Command, which I'm frankly baffled by; this is one of the most heavily referenced articles of this length on the entire 'pedia, and - in light of AN/I discussions of the Met Police's repeated attempts to "improve" it - it's heavily monitored and any even remotely controversial claim is cited to within an inch of its life. If the tag wasn't added in error, do feel free to re-add it, but it would probably help to make a note of which section you're concerned about. — iridescent 19:13, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
