Gomantak
गोमंतक,Goa is also referred to as Gomantak by Goan Hindus,which literally means the abode of the cows.
- This name is mentioned in Mahabharata,Harivansha
- Some historians also believe that the word Gomantak is not of Sanskrit origin, "Goma" is Kunkna language means narrow.
- Goa is mentioned as "Goparashtra" ,"Gomanchala" in Sahyadri Khanda and Konkanakhyan
- Goa is also called as Sunaparant which means "The Golden Land"
