[edit] Deletion review
I write simply to my compliments on, and appreciation for, this and this; although it is quite well settled that admins act only to determine for what action a consensus exists and then to effect that action (that is, after all, the only construction of adminship consistent with our five pillars and the fundamental fashion in which we do things here), it is, it is unfortunate to say, necessary that observations of that fact be made from time to time (I don't mean to suggest, I guess I should say, that either of the two DRVs I reference occasions such an observation—I've looked only cursorily at the two—but there are, to be sure, a good many of XfD closures that involve an admin's [uncollegially] substituting his/her judgment for that of the community, and the community's having to deal with, and, where necessary, reverse, those closures is exceedingly disruptive; any advocacy, then, that admins [and, really, all users] be circumspect when evaluating discussions in the context of policies and guidelines to determine consensus is always to be commended). Good on ya. Cheers, Joe 06:01, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
