You seem to have been editing some articles on the Ravenclaw family--which is OK, as long as they are notable, and you stick to content appropriate for Wikipedia. A biographic article in WP is supposed to be about the person who is the subject of it, not "his sisters and his cousins and his aunts". It is not a genealogy. I have a published genealogy for my family also, and one of them is a Nobel Prize winner. He's in here--put in by somebody else; the others are not.The article discusses his work, not his relatives. At least I think they are not--I have not actually looked.
- "Family" articles are in my opinion reasonable instead of individual articles, but they should be a sketch of the whole family, not just sections to expand. Someone had put a proposed deletion tag on Ravensclaw family; there were 4 sketches in there , of which three had been expanded. since John Goldsborough Ravenshaw II was chairman of the East India Co., it seemed to me he was notable also, so I made an article out of it. I removed some of the mention of ancestors from the others. It is now time to either delete the article for the family, I can do that if you tell me, or to turn it into a proper general sketch. I leave you to it; to keep someone else from deleting it altogether, I've put on a proposed deletion as duplicate tag , which should keep it safe for a few days.

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:McColoughCPeter-Xerox.jpg
Thank you for uploading Image:McColoughCPeter-Xerox.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. [edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Mr Peter McColough.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Mr Peter McColough.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 14:43, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
