[edit] Anne Beadell Highway

A change in detail of the article made by Tazkal, has made me rather confused, and why Leonora-Laverton Road is not listed as a major junction.

I have extensively researched Google Maps, and find it a very reliable source, considering in areas where I have never been, such as the Goldfields Highway in Western Australia. Anyway, I do believe that Anne Beadell Highway should be included as a major junction for two reasons.

I find it unnecessary that Leonora-Laverton Road, should have a Wikipedia Road article, as there is not a lot to mention about it, other than where it starts and ends (which is obvious), and distance covered. I felt that the best connection is the Anne Beadell Highway with the Goldfields Highway via Leonora-Laverton Road, as it won't create the missing link between two important outback roads. If you viewed Anne Beadell Highway, you will see that I also listed Goldfields Highway as the terminating point via Leonora-Laverton Road, and hence this will reduce the need of an additional Wikipedia article, and also give visitors an idea into the important link this would have, especially for 4WD enthusiasts.

I hope that you will revert back to the previous that Tazkal has made, and for evidence visit Google Maps, and search Laverton, WA; and you will see for yourself I'm making this link road for a very good reason. --Rom rulz424 (talk) 14:19, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Firstly the Leonora-Laverton is not a major highway junction, The same as the Gunbarrel Highway Juction at Wiluna (also called the Wongawol Rd), The Mt Magnet-Leinster Rd (which links to Great Northen Highway), The Agnew-Leonora Rd (the former Goldfields Hwy when it was know as the Kalgoorlie-Meekatharra Rd) The Leonora-Laverton Rd is not a state or federal highway. All other major highway pages have mention of only Major Highways, not minor roads If we were to mention every road that linked to another road, just think of the roads that could be added; it's nonsense!! The Anne Beadell highway is a track; nothing more! It is like the Gunbarrel Highway, Connie Sue Highway and more; all highways in name, but really tracks. Also Google maps is not a reliable source for road information. For correct info please refer to book such as Roads & Tracks Western Australia. Regards Tazkal (talk) 14:36, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Google maps are not a very reliable source as like with most maps it has it's errors. It's best to use a written source then using a map which could have incorrect information, out of date ect. Bidgee (talk) 14:47, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Goldfields Highway

Quite clearly, you haven't done your research. I may come from interstate (won't say where), but I can clearly tell you that if you searched Laverton, WA on the Google Maps page, you will find Goldfields Highway, on the left of the map, and if you zoom in on Laverton, you will find that Leonora-Laverton Road, links with the Anne Beadell Highway, and since it isn't necessary to add Leonora-Laverton Road as another Wikipedia Road Article, I think it is the only smart think to add that Anne Beadell Highway runs via Leonora-Laverton Road between Leonora and Laverton to the Goldfields Highway. Here's the link if you still don't believe me! [1]--Rom rulz424 (talk) 14:00, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

It's best to find a written source so it can be cited then using Google Maps as a source. Bidgee (talk) 14:41, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

If we mentioned every road that was linked to another road i could add another 4 at least to this page. Plus, the Anne Beadell Highway isnt classified as a highway; its a track, just like the Gunbarrel Highway. Google Maps is hardly the most acurate of sources in any case!
