Talk:Golconda (World of Darkness)

Articles for deletion This article was nominated for deletion on 12-23-07. The result of the discussion was merge and redirect to Vampire (World of Darkness).

Wikipedia already *had* a Golconda entry, which re-directed uselessly to the Inconnu entry. I don't know Vampire well enough to add a lot of information, but I added something, as well as a link to more. Merging the stub with the Vampire pages (both of them? both games have the concept) might be defensible, but I see no reason to delete it. Mindstalk (talk) 15:37, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

I'd also note that the page was linked to by the Inconnu, Caine (World of Darkness), and Salubri pages, and the concept is mentioned without a link in the Erciyes Fragments. So, three or four existing pages -- at least one of which *is* central to a major RPG -- were linking to this entry, which had no actual information until I put something in. The thing is, "central to a major RPG" doesn't mean it's a notable topic in its own right. This information may well belong on a page here somewhere - perhaps on a page about the vampire metaplot - but it doesn't deserve a page of its own. Frankly, neither do most of the WoD articles. Maybe they don't, but they exist, and my addition makes that complex of pages more complete, filling a gap they already pointed to. If you want to challenge the whole lot to deletion or re-organization go ahead, but be consistent. Mindstalk (talk) 08:47, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
I don't think it would be appropriate for me to list pages I haven't looked into in any depth - but if you think a mass-nomination is the way forwards, then I'd suggest waiting until this article's AfD is finished and then listing the other pages together and citing this one as a precedent. Well, I don't agree with the Notability concerns as applied to gaming and other geek communities, so it wouldn't be appropriate for me to go nominating pages, except to make some spiteful political point. It'd be a way backward, from my POV. But I'm telling you that if you feel confident in nominating this page for deletion, which I presumed you noticed because I created it, there's a bunch of other pages I've already linked to which you can look into, if you think deleting minor game pages is a cause worth fighting.
