Golis Telecom Somalia (Somali Language: Shirkadda Isgaadhsiinta ee Golis Soomaaliya). Golis Telecom Somalia is the largest telecom operator in North East Somalia, it has an extensive network that covers all the major cities and more than 40 districts in both Puntland and Somaliland. It was founded in the year 2002 with an objective of serving the country with its activities – GSM mobile services, fixed line and Internet services. [1] According to the Economist, Golis has one of the cheapest international calling rates on the planet with less than US$0.3 anywhere in the world. [2]

Flashback service is the practice of calling another mobile user, but disconnecting before the connected call is answered. It provides a method for mobile users to alert someone that they wish to be called, but either can't, or won't, pay for the call. The method is cost-free for the users; but costly in network bandwidth.

Golis Mobile has also other services such as XOGMAAL. XOGMAAL is a service which enables enquiring, emailing through the mobile, searching from largest encyclopedias, search engines like google, dictionaries, online checking of Stock exchange, currency Rate exchange, weather-forecasting, News channels like BBC, aljazeera, CNN and Somalia media.
