[edit] DJ
Now most renowned for her energised DJ appearances- although her background is firmly in music and arts journalism. Most notable performances to date include playing the Cabaret tent at the 2006 Reading Festival, hosting the closing parties of the Ibiza Rocks festival at Bar M on the white isle, warming up for Simian Mobile Disco at TDK Cross Central, playing main stage at the kooky Secret Garden Party [1] in Cambridge, rocking the beach at Newquay Ripcurl Boardmasters Festival, headlining the vast 'super-club' that is Razzmatazz [2] in Barcelona, opening the official afterhsow at the MTV European Music Awards2006 in Copenhagen with Juliette and The Licks, plus, numerous VICE parties nationwide including Tales Of The Jackalaope in Derbyshire. Indeed not forgetting her adventures of early 2006 and 2005: spinning discs to thousands at Get Loaded In The Park, on a bill alongside Happy Mondays, Fatboy Slim et al, supporting Soulwax at Lux in Lisbon and glamming up the MTV European Music Awards 05 Aftershow the evening following, not to mention the official Live 8 post-event celebrations; shaking up Koko with Mani (Primal Scream) at Camden Crawl 2006 [3]; trashing Giorgio Armani's yacht in Monaco, disc-jockeying at a backstage Glastonbury 2005 soiree on a specially curated bill also counting The Magic Numbers and The Chemical Brothers: and a particularly, suitably sleazy outing for recently reformed slobbo-punks Mötley Crüe, following their most recent London reunion performance. Entwining taste with style, zest and motion, her sets and appearances are more performance rather than mere, tame exhibitionism building, and popping just when the ambience is ready, to notorious, affirmative crowd response [4].
[edit] Promoter
Her year old, monthly self-titled club night at the Elbow Room Islington said it all. Sam's Electro-Rock N Roll Disco has showcased a combination of established live acts, guest DJs, and hotly-tipped newcomers. Having presented the live talents of Noisettes, Art Brut, Louie, Jeremy Warmsley, Chikinki, John Kennedy, Ladyfuzz, The Pipettes, The Rocks, The Modern, The Rocks, Cazals, The Chalets, Emmy The Great, Rumble Strips, Misty's Big Adventure, The Research, VHS Or Beta, Akira The Don, Son of Dave and many of the vital alt-emergents worthy of notice.
Rather than be constrained to the limitations of one location, Sam is now invading venues all over London and the UK, hosting events as varied as her music collection from vast, overwhelming club-nights, to intense exclusive showcases, kooky one-offs and afterparty/private luxury soirees. Most recently basing the night at the infamous, exclusive hotspot that is The Grill Room at Café Royal, Regents Street. Favourite of London’s fashion and music icons including Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, Jude Law, Sean Lennon, Liz Jagger, Matthew Williamson, Kelly Osbourne and The Libertines[5].
[edit] Writer & journalist
Hall's extensive work in music journalism should also be of note including her acclaimed Goldierocks column in independent national music magazine Spill and new online favourite UP Magazine, guest articles and interviews in renowned papers such as Music Week and ID, as well as her contribution as a speaker to a number of specialist music panels at industry conferences such as In The City [6] and London Calling 06. Her presence and influence also rapidly spreading into the worlds of radio and T.V.
