Goldie Morgentaler

Goldie Morgentaler is a Yiddish author, and daughter of Chava Rosenfarb, most notable for translating Les Belles Soeurs into Yiddish in 1992, under the title of "Di Shvegerius".
She is Associate Professor of English at the University of Lethbridge, where she teaches nineteenth-century British and American literature. She has published numerous translation from Yiddish to English, including several stories by I. L. Peretz. Morgentaler is the translator of much of her mother’s work, including The Tree of Life and Survivors: Seven Short Stories, for which she won the 2005 Helen and Stan Vine Jewish Book Award.
