Gold phosphine

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gold phosphine complexes are formed from a gold salt, such as gold triflate, with the gold complexed to a tertiary phosphine. For example, triphenylphosphine gold triflate Ph3PAuOTf is used as a gold(I) catalyst for rearrangement reactions in chemical synthesis. It is able to add to an alkyne, to give a gold alkene intermediate, which reacts further, releasing the gold(I) catalyst.
