Gokashō, Shiga

Gokashō (五個荘町 Gokashō-chō?) was a town located in Kanzaki District, Shiga, Japan. On Feb. 11, 2005, it merged with Yōkaichi city and Eigenji, Aitō, and Kotō towns to form a new city called Higashi-ōmi.

In 2003, the town had an estimated population of 11,984 and a density of 736.12 persons per km⊃. The total area was 16.28 km².
