Going Back to Cali is a song by Biggie Smalls from his album Life After Death. It was released alongside Sky's the Limit which peaked at #26 in the U.S.

Fans say the song is one of the tracks that added fuel to the west coast/east coast fire, although others, including P. Diddy, have stated that was never the intention. Nevertheless, the following lyrics were thought to be a big turning point in the infamous feud.

"If I got to choose a coast I got to choose the East
I live out there, so don't go there
But that don't mean a nigga can't rest in the West
See some nice breasts in the West
Smoke some nice sess in the West, y'all niggaz is a mess
Thinkin I'm gon stop, givin L.A. props
All I got is beef with those that violate me
I shall annihilate thee."

[edit] Trivia

  • This song contains a sample of "More Bounce to the Ounce" by Zapp.
  • In the South Park episode Hell on Earth 2006, Butters summons Biggie Smalls by saying his name three time. Biggie Smalls forces Butters to take him to Satan's sweet sixteen party as a form of payback. On the plane, Butters can be heard singing the aforementioned song.
