Goffs School is a comprehensive secondary school and sixth form college located in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, England with over 1,500 students. With over 200 students in each year group. The school was awarded 'Language College' status in the mid to late 90's.

The school motto was "Sola Virtus Invicta", (roughly translates from Latin to "virtue alone is unconquerable"), however, it was recently changed to "Respect Confidence Achievement".

The school has played host to BBC presenter Jenny Scott who handed out awards at an awards evening.

[edit] Houses

There are six houses in Goffs School, into which all students are sorted. Each house is named after a famous and influential person from history. The houses are Brontë, Churchill, Columbus, Curie, Mandela and Monet and each house is allocated a specific colour tie. This house structure was introduced in 2002; the former house structure consisted of four houses named after founding teachers of the school - Davies, Booker, Morgan and Trayhern. House events take place often within the houses, including charitable activities.

At the end of each year, awards are given to the house with the most credits (awards for achievement) best performance in the weekly quiz, and best attendance level. There is also an "overall house" award, which Mandela won last year.

[edit] Sports

The schools hosts a 'Sports Day' annually, held in the summer, which consists of track and field events. Aside from this, the school runs inter-house competitions in various sports, such as the current rugby tournament.
