- God appears briefly in Good Omens, as a faceless entity who, while strict, was willing to compromise.

- In Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, God is a slovenly, lazy man on a hovering chair.
- In The Chronicles of Wormwood series, God is an idiot.

- In Bruce Almighty and its sequel Evan Almighty the character of God is portrayed by Morgan Freeman as a kindly black man.
- In Time Bandits the character of God is portrayed by Ralph Richardson as an upper class Englishman. (He is actually referred to as The Supreme Being by large but named God twice) but he doesn't appear 'in human form' until the very end of the movie.
