God's advocate

God's advocate (Latin: Advocatus Dei) is a participant in canonization proceeding of the Roman Catholic Church.^{[citation needed]} God's advocate is charged with making the argument in favor of canonization. God's advocate is opposed by the Devil's advocate, whose job is to find all possible flaws with a potential candidate.
