Ethnicity should generally not be emphasized in the opening unless it is relevant to the subject's notability, I would agree. But here I believe that it is relevant to the subject's notability. Someone ought to skim through this and maybe tag it as non-NPOV. The last few lines in the main article seem slanted.

This reads like an article from a magazine; it doesn't seem to have the tone an entry on the site should have.
