[edit] Documentation

This template employs intricate features of template syntax.
You are encouraged to familiarise yourself with its setup and parser functions before editing the template. If your edit causes unexpected problems, please undo it quickly, as this template may appear on a large number of pages.
Remember that you can conduct experiments, and should test all improvements, in either the general Template sandbox or your user space before changing anything here.

This template is used to link articles, images, and/or URLs containing further information about the subject at hand. Many links are possible, using two parameters. It combines the functionality of the following templates: {{catmore}}; {{catmore2}}; {{catwikiproject}}; {{dablink}}; {{details}}; {{details2}}; {{details3}}; {{further}}; {{main}} (use "mains" for plural); {{mainarticle}} (use mainarticles for plural); {{MainBold}} (use mainbolds for plural); {{mainlist}}; {{see}}; and {{seealso}}. It is called with one of those template names as the first parameter (or "to" for "Go to:"), or just one parameter (for "Additional information can be found at:", and the links to articles, images, and/or URLs in the second parameter. You may use the {{!}} or | hack to substitute for a vertical bar, or the 2= hack to use a URL with an equal sign in it. Links must use the correct square brackets, as if they were inline, as this template will not supply any square brackets by itself. This template will also not include anything after it - you want a full stop / period / dot, you append a full stop / period dot yourself.
