[edit] Welcome to the Wikipedia

Welcome, newcomer!

Here are some useful tips to ease you into the Wikipedia experience:

Also, here are some odds and ends that I find useful from time to time:

[edit] Arithmetic encoding

I appreciate your willingness to help on this article, but a) I've been working on this article for quite a while, and would appreciate getting a chance to complete the revision, and b) to put it bluntly, I do not think your edits are moving it in a good direction. The whole reason the article was put up as needing attention in the first place is that it was written in a way that was not comprehensible except to a limited audience; your edits move back towards that very specialized explanation, using phrases like "the codebook" without explanation, and phrases like "assign intervals to every symbol in fraction of the number's range, usually proportinal to probability" that make sense to someone who already knows the basic concept but not to someone who doesn't. Please let me work on the article a little longer, and if you have any objections once it's a finished article, they can be settled then. -- Antaeus Feldspar 19:08, 9 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Next time when you will be turning a page into a redirect, please do not forget to move information into the "surviving" page. Mikkalai 07:31, 31 Oct 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Vladimir Putin

Sorry for that 'discussion' at talk page concerning VVP.

You are right. I reread your notes and found in fact they were correct. Don't worry, you are not too much of unNPOV..

I don't know what did irritate me. May be the word 'tzar', after reading US newspapers it becomes almost conditional reflex. ;-) Or i couldn't accept any look from that side.

If i see irritating note, now i would count to ten before answering. Evgeniy, ellol 11:29, 27 Feb 2005 (UTC)
