Ashfield - good start, but to 'wikify' would mean trying to put a heading or two in, to break up the text maybe. also at the bottom to put catgories/stub signs. No one ever told this to me when I started and I was too impatient to read the intro stuff. Have fun!!vcxlor 07:37, 8 October 2005 (UTC)

Even if you can't be bothered to add any it's quite cool to see things on google earth as Perth etc is quite well covered by sat pics. SeanMack 12:07, 6 December 2005 (UTC)

Preston Point, Western Australia

Hi Gnangarra, Sorry about the almost total revert of this article. You had confused Preston Point with Point Walter. Drew (Snottygobble | Talk) 11:14, 11 January 2006 (UTC)

 • Good stuff. Point Walter is very photogenic and I'm often there; if only I had a digital camera I would fill the article with happy snaps. Drew (Snottygobble | Talk) 12:16, 11 January 2006 (UTC)

Jandakot

I would have thought since they provide a very Australian airport hazard they are notable and worth having in there. How many airport technicians and pilots around the world need to be on the lookout for roos?! Aside from that, a quick google led me to this, so a bit about the environment of the airport site would be a good section to have added in there. Cheers SeanMack 13:41, 15 January 2006 (UTC).

Aye a rewrite would be good - it probably needs an infobox too. I'd considered it myself, but I'm currently working through adding a load of pics that I've never had the time to upload. Speaking of which - I have 2 possibles for Caversham on the Perth talk page, if you wanted to register an opinion? All the best. SeanMack 14:35, 15 January 2006 (UTC)
Nice work on the airport - amongst other articles - I keep seeing you getting there before me! BTW I mentioned placeoepdia before on this page - not sure if that interested you - but I've been adding co-ordinate templates to many Perth and WA related pages. Clicking on the link brings up a page that has links to many mapping facilities. Also it's possible to download a file of all wiki tagged pages that make them appear on Google Earth. Just thought I'd mention just in case you were interested - I've learned heaps about WA through that.
Forgot to sign the above - but thought I'd let you know today I went and took a few pics in Jandakot Airport, added them to commons, created a cat for them and linked it to the article. Just wondering if you would be interested in having a look to see if any should be added to the article. Cheers SeanMack 07:21, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

Darling Scarp

Good onya! I was just on someone else's talk tonight saying that this article has heaps and heaps of work due on it, and the other just started Swan Coastal Plain (sort of a derivative or parallel to the really good swan river article) needs heaps as well, so lets hope others do their bit as well! SatuSuro 13:37, 22 January 2006 (UTC)

And the Chippers Leap story - interesting to hear your folks were into the dogs, my father was the swanbourne vet until 1962, and retired to darlington... by strange coincidence, we're just moving to the eastern end of glen forrest adjacent to mahogany creek  :0 , SatuSuro 13:53, 22 January 2006 (UTC)
Another good onya! Thanks for what you are doing for outback, I lose interest when there are issues with other editors, I tend to walk away from some articles because of that. I am please to see you are making an effort with it! Well done! SatuSuro 09:43, 30 January 2006 (UTC)

Hope i can help with the Perth project...

Avondale

The article is interesting and is pretty well written. There were a few minor copyedits to be made, but when it comes to the big issues like NPOV, the article is sound. I'm not a huge fan of offering pointers, as i don't like the sound of my own voice, but since you asked so nicely:

 • The first sentence ought to say what Avondale is, rather than where it is;
 • Whenever you create an article, it is a good idea to add redirects and disambig entries to any other name that someone might use in searching for the article. I created a disambig page at Avondale Estate and added an entry to Avondale.

Keep up the good work, Drew (Snottygobble) | Talk 12:45, 11 February 2006 (UTC)

To make a disambig page:
 1. Create your article at a different location, e.g. Mark John Currie;
 2. Move Mark Currie to Mark Currie (games developer); this will automatically turn Mark Currie into a redirect to Mark Currie (games developer);
 3. Update links to Mark Currie to point to Mark Currie (games developer);
 4. Edit Mark Currie to change it from a redirect page to a disambig page. There aren't really any rules on disambig pages, except that you put the disambig notice at the bottom, or you could use the "human name disambig" notice hndis.
Just to complicate things: if the original article was by far the most important of the articles that should be at that title, you would instead leave the article at the main title, and create the disambig at Mark Currie (disambiguation). Then place an "other uses" notice at the top of the main article. For an example where that he been used see John Forrest.
To make a redirect, simply edit the blank article that you want to redirect, and type
#REDIRECTMark John Currie

Canning Vale College

I agree with your reversion. The version you reverted was unacceptably POV. The best way to resolve problems like this is to write a really great NPOV article, but this would take a long time, and of course you're under no obligation to do so. It is perfectly reasonable for you to keep reverting to the NPOV stub. Sometimes people won't listen to reason and keep reverting back, and you just have to be more patient/stubborn than them. You should note, however, that this kind of situation is not considered vandalism. It is considered a content dispute. You must comply with WP:3RR (no more than three reverts in any 24-hour period) or you could end up getting blocked. I will put the article on my watchlist and help you keep the POV version out. You beat me to it again!

I'd noticed that Mundaring Weir needed pics so went up last weekend. Just as I went to put them on the article page I saw you got there already. FYI I put my pics in commons and linked to that category from the page. Think any should go on to the Mundaring Weir page? Cheers SeanMack 17:43, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

 • Just noticed the talk page says you have more pics for the pumping station. If you upload them to commons and mark the image page with

 The images will end up in the same cats on commons as the ones I added. Cheers. S.

28

The 28 has been a subspecies of the Port Lincoln parrot untill the Mallee Ringneck parrot was lumped with that species. The name Australian ringneck is only valid for the combined species. I have edited the page considerably, as it was a mixture of old and new taxonomy. B. Z. occidentalis is not a subspecies anymore based on the same literature that created your preferred name. The page as I found it was at that moment a duplication of a much more substantial page on the same species, so it was logical to solve the duplication first. I had no time that evening to search the literature for the name giving, so I left a note at the talk page on that. If the aerticle would have had substantial information, I would have discussed it, but the page was very very rudimentary without taxobox whatever. Kim van der Linde at venus 03:58, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

I would expect that it will start showing up on the internet, as I can find a lot of information about other endangered WA species. The question would be, is is a local declaration of endangered, or by a state agency. Or is it a question of being protected (aka, no hunting because of agricultural damage etc), because of an increasing problem. I belief immediatly that the Rainbows displace the native species, and I can see that it is a concern. However, I could not yet find a reliable source for the status, so that Is why I added the citation needed tag. Do you have any idea when the newspaper article was published? Kim van der Linde at venus 02:20, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
Thanks. It has worked out well. I should have notified you about moving stuff. And you thanks as well, it looks really good now. I hope you agree with my assesment that the individual is indeed an intermediate. What misses still is a comprehensive description of the species, and the subspecies, which I might add this evening (Forshaw has some good stuff on this). Kim van der Linde at venus 16:14, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

Good article nomination

Greetings. I recently nominated the article of NPA Personality Theory as a candidate for "good" status. However on reflection it is likely best the article try to attain featured status in the future as opposed to good. The reason being that the article is rather long already for a good candidate - also, the theory's creator and author of much of the article still has much information to add to the article regards the finer points of the theory itself. I unfortunately was unsure of his future intentions when I nominated the article. Thus, in conforming with the spirit of the good article system, I thus request the nomination be withdrawn from the list - as it seems very likely now that the article should continue to develop before attempting to attain featured status. Thanks for your assistance! - D-Katana 20:15, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

Gulf Oil

Gnangarra. Thankyou for your comment. I have posted a reply to the Gulf Oil Discussion page. Bob BScar23625 07:30, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

As regards the Betelgeuse incident. It made great impression on those involved in it, however peripherally. I made a made a number of visits to the site between 1981 and 1983 while working for Gulf. I returned there again in 1985, by this time working as a consultant for the Commissioners of Irish Lights. The ambience of the place is something that will stay with me always. Bob BScar23625 16:55, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

Gideon. I have written all I want to, for now, on Gulf Oil and the Betelgeuse incident. The large majority of your earlier suggestions have been adopted. So, would you be kind enough to take a quick glance over the two and let me know what you think?. If you consider they are OK, I will probably nominate the two of them together for Good Article status. Bob BScar23625 08:18, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

responded on Bob's page here

Gideon. OK - your revisions are definite improvements, although I have made a few textual corrections thereto. I haven't seen Bantry Bay since 1985, so I might go down to take a few photographs. The oil terminal is still there - although the storage tanks which used to be bright and shiny are now rusted and brown. It puzzles me why someone from Western Australia should be interested in this, but I am sure you have your reasons. Bob BScar23625 15:04, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

Gideon. Thanks for your response. I might review some Good Article candidates myself - concentrating on business and economics topics that I know a little about. But I will not do this until such time as Gulf Oil has the official seal of GA approval. Bob BScar23625 08:35, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

Gideon. Thanks for your contribution to the Betelgeuse incident article. Actually, it was you that suggested the article. Writing it has been an "act of closure" for me in a funny sort of way. I plan a trip down there this summer to take a last look at the place, and won't go there again thereafter. Bob BScar23625 14:21, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
