References

Hey, i am adding references to the Aquinas College, Perth article, and when i add them, sometimes it just removes certain sections from the article, or takes away some title/just completely mucking up the page. How can i fix it? Smbarnzy 11:10, 13 February 2007 (UTC) many thanks.

Wheatbelt Towns

Hi now that I am finally settled in here I want to get to work on the Wheatbelt towns, I got Orderinchaos78 to finish the template so I could get some idea of what has to be done. As from reading what youve said elsewhere you seem to know a fair bit about these things and what is required, do you have any tips or strategies for getting a lot of pages done like this? Like obviously I don't want them all to just be stubs (we werent really that concerned with the roads ones :). DanielT5 14:09, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

The two arguments are missing the point.. imho - but it would have to be after at least one round at meetup to get oiled up about the issue though :) SatuSuro 14:36, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Thank you

for adjusting the WP Aust template--Golden Wattle talk 21:12, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

  • Hello Gnangarra. Both myself and Mattinbgn have been working with Golden Wattle to use the Riverina tag that you created as a part of the WP Aust template. The two of us have struck a minor query which in summary is .... Should Riverina towns' talk pages be tagged with both Australian places and Riverina tags? If you go to User talk:VirtualSteve#Riverina tags here you will see our earlier discussion. We have asked Golden Wattle's opinion but she has gone to ground for a few days (busy in real life). Can we have your opinion please? --VS talk...images 21:25, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
  • Cheers - thanks for the response - appreciate your time. --VS talk...images 01:57, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the welcome

Thanks for welcoming me. I have added substantial content to the Mount Barker WA page. There's plenty of work to do yet, including formatting, links and photos, but the basics are there. Comments welcome.--AndrewD MBarker 16:27, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

Aquinas College, Perth

Hey gnangarra, just wondering if you could take a look at the Aquinas College, Perth article, ive made alot of changes in regard to: sections, references and images (just to name a few). I was after your thoughts on what has been done, and what needs to be done. Thanks Smbarnzy 15:47, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

speedy

Interesting to see an admin tagging something for speedy deletion. Did you forget that you have the tools, or were you looking for a second opinion? Hesperian 00:56, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

Buizel

Buoysel is currently at the Japanese name, and was kept there because Buizel didn't have reliable sources backing it up. Now, there is a photo of toy packaging from Toy Fair that has "Buizel" on it. With this reliable source, everyone agrees that the English name is indeed "Buizel", and all mention of it was changed to Buizel. However, thanks to a previous move war, it cannot be moved to the Buizel name. ' 01:43, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your assistance. ' 01:45, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

B. epica

When you've got a spare moment, can you check that all the external links in references work, and remove the ones that don't? They all work for me, but some apparently don't work for Guettarda. Hesperian 02:29, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

Buizel move

OK, two problems here, first of all, this move was NOT uncontroversial. Apostrophe had previously listed it at WP:RM under uncontroversial proposals, and I removed it due to controversy. The user’s request here on your talk page was a blatant abuse of your admin goodwill in an attempt to circumvent policy and process.
Second, and more urgently, you seem to have accidentally lost the entire talk page somewhere in the move process. Talk:Buizel still redirects to Talk:Buoysel, which is empty, having been deleted by you. --WikidSmaht (talk) 02:37, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

OK I've restored the talk page. With the article page it came up under a speedy deletion request to remove the redirect and enable the page move. I'm happy to revert the move while this issue is resolved if thats what you would like. Gnangarra 04:27, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
Thanks. Yeah, the speedy deletion request by Apostrophe was bad faith, the move request having been removed from WP:RM previously. Moving it back might be good, though I don’t imagine that will last long. But, yeah, do, saves me from accusations of move warring. Thanks. --WikidSmaht (talk) 20:51, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

Banksia flowers

I could probably get some shots of Banksias from the Banksia Farm. It would take time of course but the main flowering season is close. In the meantime I'll have a look at what pics I've already got.--AndrewD MBarker 14:13, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

American Christmas traditions

I see you speedied this page as a copyvio. However, there is some question about this and several other articles with the same contributor. If Argonaut was not the original contributor there is page history that is not a copyvio that is worth saving. Even if Argonaut is the original contributor there is a question as to if it's a copyvio as the originating website has a license which may be semi-compatable with Wikipedia's. At any rate, a group of us are willing to re-write these. Would you please restore it? ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 15:02, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

Recent Unblocking of Xenophrenic

I don’t know why you unblocked Xenophrenic, or how he convinced you to do so. I don’t know how the fact that the arbitration case and the check user were done a year apart is relevant to your unblocking him. Xenophrenic edits only one article, an article that the anon edited and edit wars over the same exact material [1] [2], that’s why the checkuser came back as likely. Torturous Devastating Cudgel 15:23, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

I'm having a look over your post to my talk page concerning Xenophrenic now. Allow me some time to look into all that's gone on over time and I'll get back to you shortly with an opinion. -- Longhair\talk 08:00, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Tower image

No problem. I'll see if I can dig up the original. I agree the images are getting numerous so I'll hold off for a while and see where the text content goes from here. I may look at putting a gallery in later, with identifying local pics. I do have a document which discusses some town history. I realise I can reference it but I'm uncertain to what extent I can use it without risking plagiarism. It's essentially a research document produced in relation to forestry - you can find it here if you want to take a look. On a side note, it's rather interesting editing a page at the same time as someone else - my heart re-started a couple of times for a minute there :) --AndrewD MBarker 13:57, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Banksia photos

I've uploaded two Banksia pics. B. seminuda and B. coccinea. I've put them in the appropriate sub-categories but am unsure if further information (botanical) seeds to be added to the image pages. also have more pics which were taken at the Banksia Farm a couple of years ago but have no identification for them. I'm not sure if it's possible to just upload them somewhere and have someone else identify and categorise them. Suggestions welcome. --AndyD_MB 12:02, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

Plus, if you can give me some advice on splitting my sig for user and talk pages I'd appreciate it. I've tried all sorts but can't get the 'talk' half to work. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by AndrewD MBarker (talkcontribs) 12:44, 24 February 2007 (UTC).

Soldier settlement (Australia)

Hi Gnangarra, soldier settlement schemes directly influenced every state of Australia and have a direct link to irrigation commencement etc. These schemes opened up vast quantities of (amongst other places) Western Australia. Until today there was no article on Wiki covering the topic. I have started it and have also suggested it to be a WP:ACOTF article - would welcome your support if you think that such an article is appropriate for a collaboration project? --VS talk...images 02:09, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

Aquinas Article

I wanted you to weigh into the debate on Talk:Aquinas College, Perth about the establishment of the college. Thanks Smbarnzy 07:07, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

Re: Barnstorming

The ref is on a U.S. Government website, so is presumably a product of the U.S. government, and so in the public domain. That settles the copyright aspect, but there is still the moral right of David H. Onkst to be recognised as the author of the material. You could probably settle that with a dummy edit with an informative edit summary. Hesperian 22:13, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

The political issues that arise in asterix make me wonder where they fit - are they the roman legions innocently playing a quiet game of chess just before one of obelix'es menhirs fly on top of them, or are they the offspring of the villagers who get into the fray when the smelly fish start flying? SatuSuro 11:38, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks using the pics, and for letting me know. Campaign templates

Yeah, if it is a strict voting then it will be no consensus because of milhist voters (they worry about other campaignboxes). However I think all the nominated templates are similar in POV related things, per Steve comments. However, based on Kirill's comments, I might redraw 2nd chechen & iraq war, and keep the two rest.
