GMTV2 is a British digital television station owned by GMTV, a consortium of ITV plc and The Walt Disney Company. It broadcasts every morning between 6am and 9.25am (on the same channel as ITV4). It is designed to complement its sister channel GMTV, and offers children's programming every day and it is simulcasted weekdays on the CITV Channel
Weekdays show Teleshopping for the first half hour until 6.30am followed by Action Stations! until 9.25am.
Weekends change to pre-school programming, with Wakey! Wakey! airing 6am to 9am on Saturdays and 6am to 7.55am on Sundays. A repeat of The Sunday Programme is aired at 7.55am on Sunday mornings. A teleshopping strand is featured on Saturdays once scheduled programming runs out between 9am and 9.25am.
The station closes down at 9.25am, when ITV4 or CITV programming takes over.
On March 17, 2008, ITV2 and its one-hour timeshift channel have been broadcasting 24 hours a day, meaning GMTV2 programming moved from ITV2 to ITV4, broadcasting its usual hours. The stand continues to be simulcast on the CITV Channel.[1]
As of November 2006, a one-hour delayed version of GMTV2 had been available on ITV2+1 on Sky and also on Freeview, running from 7am to 10.25am, however since GMTV2's switch from ITV2 to ITV4, there have been no timeshift services.
