Template talk:GMC
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kelly Blue Book lists the last year for American sale of the GMC Jimmy as 2001. While I believe some Jimmys remained on sale in Canada through the end of S/T production in 2005, none were sold beyond the 2001 model year in America. The same site also shows that the Jimmy lost its "S-15" prefix after 1991, since the K5 Jimmy was renamed Yukon that year, and there was no longer need for distinction. Since there's no elegant way to note that within the 1983-94 generation on the template, I find it appropriate to keep the "S-15" prefix for the whole first generation of smaller Jimmys, but drop it for the second. [edit] G-Series vans
The original G-Series vans were replaced by the Savana in 1997, not 1995 as the tempate says. Also, it's a bit of a misnomer to call it "Vandura", since the same van also went by "Rally Wagon". These are more body style/trim demarcations than anything else, as the official model name was G-Series. The changes will be made. Rhettro76 18:23, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Canyon/Sonoma
Also, the Canyon and Sonoma were available side-by-side during model year 2004. The Sonoma was only available as a Crew Cab that season, however. And, the Sonoma had an S-15 prefix, much like the S-15 Jimmy did, during its first generation. Rhettro76 18:54, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
