Please update image to increase brightness. Image shows up too dark. Thx.
- I have made a brightened version of the original image and uploaded it to the image page as a replacement. However, the original image did not have its copyright status indicated. What is its copyright status? The brightened version has the same copyright status as the original, since my improvement was minor. Can somebody, such as Jfreyre, please add a copyright status tag? - It was too light, and the new image had a high compresion ratio, so I took the original image and increase the bright/contrast ratio in a non destructive way. Hope you agree with this new image.Jfreyre
[edit] jpg or png file format?
This image has characteristics of a photograph, meaning that *.jpg format is a good way to store the image in that it (usually) takes up less memory (fewer kilobytes) than lossless file formats such as *.png, and especially *.bmp. Lossless image types such as *.png are preferred for diagrams and pictures with writing and other fine details. This image is really not the case here. I saved this image into a *.jpg file which took up 55.9 kB. I then converted it into a *.png file which took up 102 kB without any improvement in clarity. If some sort of "diagram-type" edits were made to this image like adding writing for labels, then a *.png file may be preferred to show fine detail. However, until such an edit to the image is made (if ever), the existing *.jpg image is preferred since it takes up less memory. Edits to this image such as changing brightness or contrast should not require or justify changing to a *.png format. Most people who have software to edit *.png images can also convert *.jpg files to *.png files to edit them.
