Glounthaune

Glounthaune (Gleanntán in Irish) is a village situated some 10 km east of Cork, in County Cork, Province of Munster, Ireland.

The village is served by the commuter railway line between Cork and Cóbh. The next station in the Cork direction is Littleisland, while towards Cóbh the next stop is at Fota Island. With the planned reopening in 2008 of the railway line to Midleton, Glounthaune railway station will become the junction between the Cóbh and Midleton lines.

The parish of Glounthaune is the main base for Gaelic Athletic Association club, Erin's Own GAA and soccer club Glounthaune United , which as well as Glounthaune itself covers the neighbouring areas of Knockraha, Little Island, and Brooklodge. Erin's Own won the Cork County final in 2006, defeating Cloyne
