Gloria Elizabeth Thompson is a character in the English Language telenovela (Soap Opera), Fashion House. She is played by actress Donna Feldman.
[edit] The other woman with a heart
Gloria was the former assistant of CPA Lance Miller. She lusted after Lance for many months, ever since she began working with him. She had a private investigator take lurid pictures of her and Lance together at his house, and mailed them to Lance's wife, Michelle.
A justifiably angry Michelle confronted Lance first, and left him, and then confronted Gloria when she came back to retrieve the rest of her things. A catfight ensued between the angry wife and equally angry mistress. Michelle then moved in with her best friend, former model, Nikki Clark.
Despite her lust for Lance, she was in fact devoted to her ill mother, Doris Thompson (Tippi Hedren) and her son, Alec, both of whom she loved very much. However, Alec's father, Eddie Zarouvian, was never far behind. She had worked for him and his criminal enterprises, a life of which she wanted to get out of desperately.
She stopped at nothing to get what she wants. And that someone was definitely Lance. She hated Michelle so much that she wanted her dead, and had gone so far as to ask Eddie to have her killed so that Lance can be freed up for herself. She finally succeeded in getting Eddie to do this, by lying about Michelle, saying that she attacked Alec.
Doris, on the other hand, didn't approve of Gloria's breaking up Lance's marriage to Michelle, and lying to get what she wants, but Gloria refused to listen on that front, she felt that Lance was her destiny and would not let anyone stop her from achieving her desire, not even her mother.
However, Gloria had second thoughts about killing Michelle, since she had lost Doris to advanced cancer. She attempted to stop the planned hit on her, and did whatever it took to make sure Michelle is safe.
However, although she saved Michelle from death, her son, Alec, wasn't so lucky. He was shot by the assassin, who was under orders to kill Michelle. The gunman was summarily killed himself, after he said that the kid was merely an occupational hazard, and the justifiably angry Eddie found out it was Alec who was hit.
Gloria gained support during this trying time, from a most unlikely source, Michelle. Although she still remembered the behavior that Gloria had exhibited because of the affair, it seemed that Michelle was actually thankful to Gloria for not only saving her life, but by getting her out of her bad relationship with Lance. This sparked a good friendship between Michelle and Gloria, who, despite her sexy and often provocative exterior, was a really good person underneath.
Alec slowly made a recovery from the assassination attempt. Because of the shooting of her son, Gloria became a better person.
She quit her job with Eddie, which allowed herself to get out of his criminal life, and got a job as a medical assistant. This allowed her and Alec to have medical coverage, which he desperately needed when he began his physical therapy.
She also caught the eye of Dr. Evans, the surgeon who had been assigned to Alec's case, and the two fell in love. He had already bonded with Alec, to Gloria's delight. The two began dating soon after Alec was well.
Nikki Clark, who was Michelle's best friend, met Gloria, as she was waiting for word on her boyfriend, Michael Bauer, who had been shot in her apartment and explained what Eddie had done to them. Nikki also told Gloria about Lance's death.
Thanks to her knowledge of Eddie and how he operated, the brave and resourceful Gloria called him, under the pretext of him needing to see Alec, and found out where Michelle and Luke were; then had the police get there in time to have Eddie and his partners arrested for their numerous crimes. Moreover, she had saved Michelle's life again.
Despite starting out on the wrong foot, with the affair with Lance Miller, Gloria Thompson proved that despite all the setbacks, she was strong indeed and helpful to those she cared about when it really mattered.
