[edit] Brief character history
Gloria came to Pine Valley following her ex-fiancee, Craig Lawson. She was raped by the evil Will Cortlandt. (this would lead to a sad real life rape of Teresa Blake who played Gloria.) After that incident, she preceded to become romantically involved with several different men, including the wealthy and controlling Adam Chandler. The two would marry, Gloria eventually became pregnant with their child, but when she complained of labor pains, Adam did not believe her and locked her in an abandoned building. Gloria miscarried the child and blamed Adam for it. She left town in 1998 after another long series of unsuccessful relationships.
She tried to con Dixie Cooney out of money through her ex-fiance Craig Lawson before both were exposed through a videotape. Will's rape of Gloria changed her attitude towards love and life. Gloria would be the target of other rapists as a result.
