Gloria D. Miklowitz

Gloria D. Miklowitz (b. 18 May 1927 in New York City) is an author for young adults. Her books often confront serious issues, such as nuclear war, child abuse, and prejudice, and have won American and international awards. Three of her novels are being made into films.

She attended the University of Michigan, where she earned her BA in English. In 1948 she married Professor Julius Miklowitz and now lives in La Cañada, California. She has three children.
