GlobalPOV

GlobalPOV is an organization which publishes a blog and online discussion forum in which business, political and technology leaders from around the world collaborate to determine the specific ways that technology is changing notions such as privacy, identity and intellectual property. The Editor-in-Chief is technologist and privacy expert David H. Holtzman. Previously, Holtzman served as the former CTO of Network Solutions, where he managed the Internet's master root server and oversaw the growth of the commercial Internet from 500,000 domain names to over 20 million during the late 1990s.[1]

The site also includes a series of interviews and "POV's" from a range of experts in these areas. Culturally notable names include:

  • Frank Abagnale, on whom the movie Catch Me if You Can was based. The movie starred Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks, and was directed by Steven Spielberg
  • Dana Blankenhorn, a business journalist, blogger, and consultant who began his professional journalism career in 1978 and began covering the online world in the mid-80s. Mr. Blankenhorn has written for the Chicago Tribune, Advertising Age, ZDNet, and other publications. He also publishes a weekly newsletter about Ecommerce trends at a-clue.com.
  • David Brin, a well-known American author of science fiction. He is the winner of both the Hugo and Nebula Awards as well as the Interstellar War Award.
  • Richard Forno, a consultant, lecturer, and writer in the area of Washington, DC. At one time, Forno was the Chief Information Security Officer for Network Solutions. Forno is the author of the books The Art of Information Warfare, Incident Response, and Weapons of Mass Delusion: America's Real National Emergency.
