As you probably guessed my name is Glen, I'm a 32 year old Kiwi. I'm an administrator here, as well as a VandalProof moderator and Vandalism Control Network Staff member for the vandalism channels such as #vandalism-en-wp.
In real life I'm the Managing director of diverse companies; From clothing to energy supplements. I just happened to find Wikipedia in late 2005 when a Tom Cruise parody website I designed had this article written about it. My primary activity here on Wiki is the elimination of all vandalism, trolls and cruft. However, I have written several articles, usually related to my fairly wide interest base; Cults fascinate me, and because I am a former bodybuilder and have a 1st Dan black belt in both Tae Kwon Do and Ryu Kyu Kempo Karate I write about all subjects related to fitness, and the martial arts. |
[edit] WP:UW
Hi,
You have put yourself as interested in helping out atWikiProject on user warnings. We are now at a stage where we are creating the new templates and are wondering if you are still interested? If so please visit the overview page and choose a warning type you wish to work on. There is a base template available here, which you can copy and use to get you started. Have a look through the redirects and see what old templates are affected and incorporate them into the the new system. Anyway, any questions please don't hesitate to give me a shout. [edit] WP:BITE!!!
This was completely uncalled for and a violation of WP:BITE. Quite clearly the user had no clue what a talk page was all about, he only once made an attempt to use one, nor did he know what the edit summary was; but was a very good contributor in a specialised topic. The actual allegation that his username is offencive should be reexamined as it was clearly the fruit of over cautiousness. Please unblock and find some way to apologise so he knows about it. Thanks frummer 02:39, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
- Frummer has also opened an ANI thread at Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#WP:BITE_Case and one person has asked why the editor was blocked. I presume the violation is a variation on the "names of religious figures" section of Wikipedia:Username, but I'll let you answer for yourself, should you choose to. I basically have no opinion on the matter, though I have made a specific offer to unblock conditioned on the user letting me lead him through WP:CHU.--Kchase T 09:22, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

Hi Glen, I am still waiting your approval on the updated article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:I-to-i/I-to-i
Could you let me know what needs doing to the profile before it will be accepted? I've added a few references, I have more if they are required. Cheers, Jay I-to-i 12:55, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] A question
Hi,
I am sorry to bother you, I know you must be very busy but I wanted to ask a question. I am fairly new to Wikipedia, and I am having a problem with a User:Ghirlandajo moving and renaming pages at will. I asked him to consult first, but he doesn't listen. I was wondering, what are my options? Thanks for your help.--Hillock65 13:57, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] The Tools are Being Buggy Again
Hello Glen, sorry to rehash this on you for the tenth time but the monobook tools are getting buggy again. I continue receiving this error message on any rollback button I press:
Page rollback error: Last editor is <>, not <>. The user may have already been reverted.
When I look through the page history I see that there is no reversion of the edit in question, no matter how long I wait I see that the message is pretty much an error. I tried to clear both my monobook.js and monobook.css and restore their content. I have refreshed both of them on my browser (Internet Explorer) by pressing Crtl and F5 like I am supposed to but there is no luck to avail. I'll just continue patrolling as I usually do without the tools (with the exception of the one touch warnings if they work :P) and wait for your response. Thanks for your never ending patience!¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 20:16, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] User:Jewish
Please note that some other usernames beginning with "Jewish" — JewishKaveman, Jewishgenius, Jewisharific — have been used and remain unblocked. Other such names have existed, some offensive (due to the rest of the name), some not. Why is the single unattached word "Jewish" now so controversial? Are all these "Christian" usernames blocked, or all these "Muslim" usernames, or all these "Buddhist" usernames? There's no username block on User:Christian or User:Muslim or User:Buddhist. So what's wrong with being User:Jewish? – SAJordan talkcontribs 20:33, 19 Dec 2006 (UTC).
You really should be deadmined for that bit of self-rightous banning and opinionated censorship. There is no place in wiki for admins behaving like that. 89.100.52.30 19:52, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Your monobook.js
Hello, Glen! You probably don't remember me, but I was wondering what does your monobbok code do? No offence intended, but I hate trying to read the script and find it easier to just ask. Also, if I have your permission and I if I wish to use it, may I "borrow" the code? Thanks and since I can't remember your talk page rules, coul you respondd on my talk page? Thanks a bunch! [edit] User:LorenzoPerosi1898
Hi, I just opened a suspected sock page for a bunch of new Perosi socks. I notice that a bunch of his other socks are blocked but there are no block templates on their user or talk pages (User:GiovaneScuola2006, User:Flaubert2006, User:Heckelphone, User:InManusTuas). Is it possible to do so to avoid confusion? I didn't realize Flaubert2006 was already blocked until I check the logs. Thanks!-Dmz5*Edits**Talk* 18:45, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] 209.158.179.67
Hello, Remember me? I would like to report on a vandalism issue. I probably shouldn't be doing this, but I can't find any other place that dosen't make me read thirty more pages before reporting. Okay, that said, I've been recently looking for places to contribute to the article of my settlement of residence, Tinton Falls, and while browsing, found the article for a ....notorious local private school. I wished to maybe meet some other TF wikipedians, so I looked on the page history, finding that most of the edits are by anons. Still with me? So i click on an IP,209.158.179.67, and see a huge template saying that it is associated with Ranney School, and used by multiple students/users/terminals, not to ban it etc. Under that, I sawat least seven different messages regarding vandalism on broad topics like Internet, etc. I am not suggesting a ban, since the IP has like, ban immunity (bureaucratic obstacles). But please send them a letter or resrict their address. I can tell by the topics edited that it's probably just a bunch of board Computer Class students trying to say that they inherited the internet and other hogwash. So, I just hope you can control this somehow. If not, never mind. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Whytecypress (talk • contribs) 03:35, 23 December 2006 (UTC).
[edit] Non-Latin Username Blocks
There is some dispute as to whether these blocks are supported. There are many active editors who do just fine contributing with non-latin names. Per the discussion here, there seems be support for reccomending for to people creating a username at en.WP to not use non-latin characters. But does not appear to be consensus for blocking people on sight who already have a non-latin account at another Wikimedia wiki. Will you please start taking these non-latin username through Wikipedia:Requests for comment/User names in order to better gather opions on the mattter? Thank you for your atttention to this matter.--Birgitte§β ʈ Talk 17:08, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Page Removed
Hello sir, I am the orginial creator of the page "LSC AMS/NWA" that was supposibly deleted by you earlier this month. According to the link, this page was deleted because of "Blatant Advertising". I have reviewed the definition of Blatant Advertising given and can only think of one item that I personally put on this page that may have led to teh removal of my page. This page was designed to highlight our club and its achivements and we did include a list of current events. I appologize if I personally violated the rules but I wanted to know, specifically, why the page was removed and if the submission was by me. After the summer, I turned this page, per say, over to the clubs Historian and he is wondering why it was removed.
Thank You, CycloneSteve2008

- Glen how far-fetched is it to think that Messenger2010 (talk · contribs) is also LorenzoPerosi1898 (talk · contribs)? The link between the two is Yankeesin2007 (talk · contribs). It would be pretty pathetic if they were the same, though I beleive that Messenger2010 isn't as bright as LorenzoPersoi1898 (Lorenzo can spell, or at least uses spell check) and was merely disrupting that page after looking through our contributions. [edit] Orriel Smith Operatic Parodist
Orriel Smith ( www.orrielsmith.com) is the latest in a select group of operatic parodists who use their very real talents to amuse.Orriel Smith represents the even smaller niche of "animal opera singers"-in her case an "operatic chicken"
The difference between "naive" parodists like Florence Foster Jenkins (who for all her seeming naivety well knew what she was on about) is that Orriel Smith can not only sing but can hit high E's and F's which have reviewers drooling e.g. www.muzikreviewz.com/Media/orrielSmith.html) and Nichols E.Limanksy at www.divalegacy.com.
The arias on her CLUCK-O-RA-TURA Cd (www.cdbaby.com)are well chosen, not only for the opportunities they give for Orriel Smith to exhibit her carefully thought out clucking "phrasing" but are immediately recognisable as part of the "operatic cycle" to the cognoscente.
This is a second aspect to the career of Orriel smith. The first was being part of the Dylan/Baez led folk boom in the early 1960's.Her Columbia Lp "A Voice In The Wind" won acclaim not only for the obvious purity and beauty of her voice but,at a time of "protest folk",for presenting classical Anglo/Irish folk songs for their beauty and not their message.
Orriel Smith's mid 1970's work has also been recently rediscovered. She collaborated with noted composer Phillip Lambro to do the vocalisations for the movie he orchestrated "Crypt Of The Living Dead" (which soundtrack and DVD has just been released (see www.amazon.com/Crypt-Living-Dead-Phillip-Lambro/dp/B000E3CHVA).
Trunk records, which specialises in the unique has just released a compilation of what they describe as "quirky folk songs for children" in a CD titled "Fuzzy felt folk" (www.trunkrecords.com/turntable/fuzzy_felt.shtml)Orriels two tracks-sung in a little girls voice have received enthusiastic reviews with "Winds of Space" which borders on the psychadelic being singled out for the remarkable way a difficult syncopation was dealt with —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 219.89.160.167 (talk) 02:45, 9 January 2007 (UTC).

[edit] My monobook.css
Hiya Glen! Long time, no chat! I recently encountered problems with VoA's script, so I was working with a semi-dysfunctional script. I think I fixed up the problem, but there have been some changes to my sidebar. My previous sidebar (which I liked, but had problems with recently): Image:TestProblem2.JPG. Reverting back to a different version of the monobook.css gives me this, which has basically fixed my previously nonfunctional tools: Image:TestProblem1.JPG. I want to know if it is possible to keep the same functionability, but have a small navigation sidebar, with only the items after Donations being included (as seen TestProblem2.JPG). Thanks for any help, man. Nishkid64 00:47, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
